The Vogue x Air Jordan 3 AWOK “Black” was part of the second wave of sneaker releases to come from the collaboration between the fashion magazine and Jordan Brand. The women’s-only edition of the Air Jordan 3 has a special tweed construction, inspired by Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour’s fondness for tweed suits. This black colorway of the Vogue x Air Jordan 3 AWOK features a black tweed upper with Sail sprinkled into the fabric. The off-white color is also found on the leather detailing, branding, and sole. Wintour’s signature of approval for Vogue projects, “AWOK,” which stands for “Anna Wintour OK,” is found on each heel tab. The Vogue x Air Jordan 3 AWOK “Black” came out in September 2018 and quickly earned its place as one of the most important Jordan 3s—men's or women's—ever.
